Access to the site

We are located in Dordogne, near Sarlat-La-Canéda (30min)
Perigueux: 50min | Brive: 1 hour | Bergerac: 1h10 | Bordeaux: 2h10 | Toulouse: 2h45

Be careful, the site is a jewel isolated from the main roads. Consider crossing the Lespinasse bridge, which spans the Vézère between the village of Tursac and the Préhisto Parc. Feel free to use your GPS.

A 20: From Paris, exit 17 (Saint-Yrieix-la-Perche)
A 20: From Toulouse, exit 55 (Beaulieu-sur-Dordogne, Souillac)
A 89: From Bordeaux, exit 16 (Les Eyzies, Périgueux Est)

Paris-Toulouse line: two possible stops: Brive (Corrèze) and Souillac (Lot)
Link from Brive by bus to Sarlat (1 return trip from Monday to Saturday during the school year, 1 return on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays during school holidays)
Paris-Agen line: “Les Eyzies” stop (several trains per day). From Périgueux, correspondence by bus to Sarlat (1 return trip from Monday to Friday during school period)
Bordeaux-Lyon line: Périgueux (Dordogne) and Brive (Corrèze)
TGV Paris-Libourne (Gironde) line: Change of the TER Libourne-Sarlat line (direct) or Libourne-Les Eyzies (with connection)

Yes, there is free parking.

The Troglodyte Village is anchored in the cliff. This particular characteristic does not make it possible to offer PMR access on this part of the site. However, the reception and the terrace are accessible free of charge.

Visits & children

Yes, preferably. Plan to bring headphones to enjoy the audio guide without disturbing other visitors. If necessary, we sell headphones (mini-jack) at reception for €2.

Remember that troglodyte means to penetrate under the rock, so wear good shoes, avoid high heels or slippery shoes;) Do not forget your nice hat and a bottle of water, if you come in the middle of the afternoon on a very hot day.

Of course ! At Mag’Dalle, the Madeleine snack bar open all summer.
Hours: 12 p.m. to 2:30 p.m.
On Wednesday evenings July 19, August 2 and August 16, you can enjoy our meals at the Farm and take part in our traditional balls (see Activities page).
We also provide 2 picnic areas free of charge, (on the site terrace and on the farm) with a very nice view as a bonus!
Don’t forget to pick up your trash.

To make the discovery of the Site fun for your children, we offer them a game booklet to fill in during the visit (to be collected at the reception of the site (+1€). On the other hand, from Monday to Friday, various workshops (link to animations page) are offered to fully immerse yourself in this universe.

Prefer, the baby carrier, the baby carrier. (Avoid the stroller as much as possible because the site is not suitable).

The toilets are located at the reception level, at the entrance to the Site. We are not equipped with a changing table.

They are welcome, kept on a leash.

To save time, we strongly suggest purchasing your tickets online. We will scan your tickets as soon as you arrive at the reception of the Village. You can also buy your tickets on site at the site’s accuel.

The means of payment accepted at the cash desk are cash, bank checks, bank cards, holiday vouchers. The cash desks are located at the entrance to the Site.

Guided or unguided visits (with audioguide or booklet) are at the same price. You will then be offered options (farm visit, children’s workshops, meals, etc.) according to the schedules. For the audio guide, bring your headphones. If you don’t have one, headphones are available for just € 2.
