Since 2020, the Village de la Madeleine has been developing a peasant farm project, the educational purpose of which is to transmit the spirit and know-how of the peasantry to as many people as possible. An experience renewing the links that the people of the cliffs had with this environment in the past …
This new space also highlights the natural beauty of the place and the peasant world. Many discoveries await you: vegetable garden, exhibition space (in a former tobacco barn), farm animals, medicinal garden, bakery…
In summer, you can discover the small production of the farm (vegetable garden and traditional bread making, with natural sourdough and cooked in a wood oven).
Plants and vegetables from the garden supply the dining area.

The cultivation of tobacco is emblematic in the history of the Dordogne. Here, the tobacco dryer reinvents itself as an exhibition space in homage to the peasant world. The immersion takes place through numerous testimonies from former farmers, in the form of photo portraits, audio interviews, everyday objects. A real Madeleine de Proust, this tobacco dryer !
From July 2023, La Madeleine invites you to enjoy a refreshing moment, with your feet in the water, with a beach overlooking the Cingle de la Vézère. In the shade of the trees, you can enjoy a moment of total tranquility with your family.
