Presentation of Cyril MARIE
Bathed in music from an early age, Cyril MARIE began the piano at the age of six and continued his studies at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique in Paris where he obtained several first prizes – including that of piano in 1982 in the class by Aldo Ciccolini. The following year, he obtained the First Prize for Chamber Music in the class of Professor Jean HUBEAU. Cyril MARIE then perfected his skills in the United States at Indiana University, Bloomington, for four years. There he met internationally renowned teachers, including Nicola ROSSI-LEMENI who revealed to him a potential as a promising singer. But it is above all the contact with Geörgy SEBÖK, professor emeritus of piano, which will guide his life as a musician.
Thanks to the exceptional influence of this great man, he obtained his concert artist diploma “Artist Diploma” and discovered the deeply sacred call of music. From then on, his artistic evolution was accompanied by a fervent inner search which was expressed in his concerts around the world. He spent eighteen years in India: this land, the cradle of spirituality, is for him a continual source of inspiration, a place where music vibrates with a particular freshness and depth, whether vocal, instrumental, Western or Indian.
Regularly, Cyril MARIE returns to the West to happily share, during concerts and seminars, his love of music and spirituality. Today, Cyril Marie lives in the Dordogne.
